Earthquake on March 29, 2005 at 11 pm in Nias (my homeland), at 8.7 on Ritcher scale… This devastating news woke me up in the middle of the dawn (in Syd its around 5.18 am, I knew it a couple hours later).. Firstly I heard it attacked Medan, not Nias, my homeland.. At first, it didnt cross my mind that the earthquake was so hard, and attacked my lovely homeland too… Unfortunately, the epicentrum was just 99 km away from my Nias =( My family was safe though (Many thanks for that), but unfortunately my dad’s shop was collapsed.. Now we dont have source of income… (hope for temporarily).. but its not the important thing. The more important one is, my relatives… They were burried under the debris of the house… My cousins and his wife were burried.. Luckily one was saved and his legs were wounded (I hope it wont get worse). This honestly made me sad, but I still can be thankful. Cos I realise my family’s condition is much much better than the others’… Material thingy is not that matters.. But I do worry about my dad.. hope he wont break down… I realise, my family must start all over again, from the bottom.. I pray for better conditions for all people now… Sabbe Satta Bhavantu Sukhitata…

Letting Go…

Letting Go… Have you ever thought that letting go something we really love or like is so hard? Have you ever wondered why it is hard to let go something or someone we love or like? Well, one answer for this: attachment! The more we attach to something or someone, the harder we find it to let go them. Why letting go is important? Everything always changes. The ones we love can’t be around us forever, one day they must leave us. So one day we HAVE TO let them go… If we can’t let go them, it will cause us suffering. So one key: try not to be attached to anything or anyone (even to your parents). But don’t be confused.. Letting go doesn’t mean that you stop loving them… Loving and letting go are 2 things different. If you can love someone unconditionally, definitely you can let them go… Maybe you think I am talking nonsense, but I believe (yes, I do) what I wrote is right.. If you don’t believe it, juz try… and prove it =) By letting go something, you will feel happier… ^^

Fate! What is fate? Do you guys believe in fate? Of course each of us has different belief and view on fate. Myself alone, don’t believe in fate. In my belief, fate is on my palms. I can choose and change my own fate. I believe, if you do good eventually the good things will happen to you. It’s like whatever seeds you plant, you will get the respective plants. It’s impossible to get rose if you plant lily seeds. It’s all karma.. (well i know, not everyone believes in karma, but I do!) .. So guys, any comment on this? :)

LOVE– the word we usually use and hear.. I just watched a korean movie (again?
) heheh titled ‘My Brother’ (wo de siong di). This story is sooo touching (well one of my pals cried watching it! i did dropped a tear though..) In the movie, there are 2 brothers, one is harelip and introvert, and the other one is brave and extrovert. Both of them are so contrary to each other. However, the bigger brother (the harelip one) loves his brother and mom so much. So does the little brother, in different way though… In this story, there is a lesson we learn. IF YOU LOVE SOMEONE, SHOW IT AND TELL THEM THAT YOU DO! Cos in the end… the little brother felt sooo sorry for his brother cos when he was alive, the little brother didnt tell how he felt about his brother. His little brother treated his bigger brother not so well (not affectionate/symphatic, if I can say), but deep down inside him, he does love him… So guys, if you do love someone, dont let them be confused of your action, just show them straight away that you do care for them.. ^^ Love is all around, guys! Juz open your eyes wide then you’d gonna see it ….

Spring, Autumn, Winter, and.. Spring

SPRING, AUTUMN, WINTER, AND.. SPRING
I just saw this movie… this is actually a korean movie, telling about a story of two monks, one the old and the other is the young monk. I think this is not a ‘light’ movie.. =) Cos, this movie needs a bit understanding of buddhism (but not really have to have a deep understanding). Basically this movie teaches us about life. Life is like a cycle, just like the seasons, it moves from spring to autumn and eventually will be back to spring again. This story tells about a young monk, who hasn’t being enlightened, fell in love with a woman. However, due to his lack understanding of life (and in this term, Buddhism) he was ‘blind’ with love. I said ‘blind’ cos (in my understanding) he hasnt understood what a true LOVE means. In Buddhism, it is emphasised to love unconditionally, with no attachment. But the young monk saw love in a different way. This led him to fall into a ‘dark’ side of life…. In short, this movie is quite good =) Eventually the young monk got enlightened… What do u think about this movie? Well, I think this one is quite good… ^^
